A Furry Furry Tale at Featherdale

A visit to Featherdale Wildlife Park on Kildare Road in Doonside is bound to arouse your senses and set your heart fluttering!!! Oh yes, it'll certainly keep you yearning for more... I was so smitten by the animals, I couldn't bear to leave and so I had to drag myself out of the park! Okay, so that sounds pretty dramatic, but you get my point yah? The animals at Featherdale were just irresistable!

In the limelight: A baby wallaby being cuddled by a zookeeper while getting showered with loads of attention from visitors. The first kangaroo I met in Australia!Taking an afternoon nap under the midday sun, this kangeroo sure knows how to enjoy life!Bonding time for the kangeroo family!Swan Lake: A gathering of black swans, white ducks, and black-and-white geese. My first encounter with a koala! And I'm still trying to figure out his or her name.I wonder how the zookeepers could tell the koalas apart since they all seem to look alike to me.I've a feeling this koala's Yuasa...... and I think this is Jimba.A baby dingo looking kinda' troubled. Somehow, there appears to be a tinge of sadness lingering in his or her eyes. Sleeping beauty: This dingo seems blissfully asleep! And the dingo just got bigger!!!Awww... these birds are so round and sooooooooo..................... cute!!!!!! They just melt my heart!!! ^^At first, this koala was asleep...... then he or she seemed half-awake...... but it wasn't for long before this koala dozed off again! Hmmm... I wonder why koalas love sleeping so much???Sebby trying to get fresh with the koala!!! =) Haha... Here's one sleepy kangeroo. And another sleepy kangeroo.Yet another kangeroo but this one's awake! Can you spot the difference between the kangeroos in this photo...... and the ones here? Now, this kangeroo was contemplating if he or she should...... grab the ice-cream cone from me!!! Here's one naughty kangeroo! :)And so I continued to pose with the kangeroo who was happily indulging in his or her cone of grass. Why is everyone ignoring me??? Ah ha, I finally got the attention of one kangeroo!Hey, why is this kangeroo ignoring me again? =(Finally, there was one kangeroo who just knew how to appreciate me! ^^Hmmm... kissing kangeroos!!!!!!I spent some really intimate moments with the kangeroos especially this one! Luckily Sophilia was around to help me capture these special moments! Thanks Sophilia, your superb photography skills have made these absolutely awesome photos possible!Sebby walking the emu.I had to trail the emu...... and stalk the emu...... until he or she could walk no further (haha!) and I finally got to pose with the emu. =)This cute little creature which looks like a cross-between a hamster and a pig is called the wombat! From far, these look like relatives of the goat but they are really not goats! They are wallaroos!!!
I've had a most wondrous time at Featherdale where I was absolutely fascinated, completely captivated, and totally mesmerised!!! I found it really hard not to fall in love with the animals because they were simply so adorable!!!!!! =)
